Estate Planning Specialist

I’ve had a career of guiding people through major life decisions. 30 plus years working as a real estate broker and as a legal assistant and paralegal across several areas of law provided me valuable skills and experience navigating complex paperwork and procedures. Yet, even with that foundation, when my personal life deemed it necessary to learn about estate planning, I quickly discovered how confusing and overwhelming it was.

HOW I GOT STARTED IN ESTATE PLANNING

When I saw others struggling with the same frustration I felt, I was inspired. My focus was simple: create a book that presents this complex topic in simple language so the average person can understand it, and provide them step-by-step guidance to walk them through the process to reach their goals. In other words, provide them knowledge and empowerment.

My book was just the beginning of what has become a true mission of mine: educating and motivating others so they can protect not only themselves but who and what matters most to them. Today I share that message through speaking engagements, blog posts, a monthly newsletter and personal consultations.

WHERE IT HAS TAKEN ME

There is a myth that estate planning is just for the wealthy - it’s not. It’s for everyone. My belief is simple: knowledge is power and knowing how to use that knowledge is empowering. This belief drives everything I do, and how I help others.

When I’m not teaching or writing about estate planning, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, exploring the Pacific Northwest by foot, bike, or kayak, and uncovering family history and connecting with newfound relatives through my love of genealogy.

BEYOND ESTATE PLANNING

These experiences remind me that estate planning isn’t just about documents - it’s about preserving stories, honoring loved ones, and creating a meaningful legacy.
